We are so close to reach the Initial Goal - I can't belive it!
To make it easier to understand what awaits you due to the US-Tarrif Situation, I've updated the Shipping Section, especially fur USA-Shipping condition, because the IceScream Cryptids will be shipped from Germany.
Here the Infos:
For supporters in the US, we use the PDDP service provided by German shipping company DHL.
The resulting fees (PDDP service fee of €2 per package, customs duties, and a small processing fee charged by the customs service provider) are included in our shipping costs.
They will be charged after the campaign in the Pledge Manager.
This means that you will not incur any additional costs for delivery—you only pay the shipping amount stated on the campaign page.
DHL to US shipping: short & clear
1) Quick summary
- New U.S. import rules changed how postal goods are handled.
- Private gift shipments up to USD 100 / EUR 85 are still allowed by post if correctly declared.
- Commercial (business) shipments to the USA now require PDDP and full customs data; PDDP is available up to USD 800.
- Shipments over the PDDP limit will be returned — use DHL Express or other courier solutions instead.
PDDP — what it is (Postal Delivered Duty Paid)
- PDDP = postal equivalent of DDP: the sender pays and handles duties, taxes and clearance so recipients receive a “landed cost” delivery with no extra payment.

Mandatory for business shipments to the USA via DHL Paket International (as long as the shipment falls under the PDDP value limit).
- PDDP advantage: better customer experience (no surprises), fewer refusals/delays.
- PDDP limit: only valid up to USD 800 declared goods value for the USA. Above that, PDDP cannot be used and the parcel will be returned.
For Senders (so for me)
For every commercial postal shipment to the USA you must supply complete and correct customs data:
- Precise product description per item
- Correct HS / tariff code (minimum 6 digits) per item

Country of origin per item

Declared value in USD
- Missing or incorrect data risks rejection, delay, or return.
💶 What costs apply?
For every US shipment under PDDP:
- 📮 Regular shipping costs
- ➕ €2.00 PDDP service fee (VAT free, charged per shipment)
If U.S. customs duties apply (depending on item type, value, HS code, and origin), there may be additional import costs:
- 🧾 Customs duties (amount depends on the product)
- 🛠️ 2.5% of the duties as a handling fee
- ➕ USD 0.39 fixed processing fee per shipment
👉 These fees are charged to me as the sender so that you receive your package (hopefully) without any surprise payments on delivery.
🧾 How and when are these fees charged?
- Any applicable PDDP-related fees and import duties will be collected in the Pledge Manager after the campaign ends.
- These costs are borne by the backer and depend on the final contents and value of your shipment.
